In certain cultures of antiquity, to alleviate headaches, it was a commonly accepted medical practice to drill a hole in the skull. When thinking rationally, I would say that sounds like it would hurt a lot more than the actual headache, and the permanent damage to the skull and brain would outweigh any benefits it could have. However, I can see why they'd be so desperate to get rid of them. Fucking headaches.

I think that it COULD'VE been a good idea... after all, headaches are caused by the brain swelling.. of course I think few people would admit to having headaches knowing that it would get them a hole in the head. I know I would avoid the topic.
